The Hawick Tartan

Created to incorporate 7 colours (first modern machine production of a seven colour tartan), each of which depicts a piece of Hawick's historical or current day attributes, this fabric tells the proud story of the town and its people. These colours are Royal Blue & Gold from the 1514 flag, Field Green of Hawick Rugby Club, Navy & White for Hawick High School, Red to represent the bloody Battle of Flodden in 1513, and the Dark Green base of the Douglas Tartan to recognise the towns historical connection with the clan.

Hawick has it's own tartan specially designed to reflect the traditions and interests of the town by Robin Deas & Ken Hood as part of a new partnership "The Hawick Tartan Company Ltd".

Still under the leadership of a recently retired Robin Deas, the tartan is re-launched in a modern and vibrant way, with products appearing in local outlets as well as a new online store.
